Relaunch of CAVRA

Writer: CAVRACAVRA

It is with great excitement that we announce that Civil Aid Voluntary Rescue Association (CAVRA) has appointed three new trustees, to ensure continued operations of the dedicated charity, reversing the previous decision for the charity to close.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Ivor Davies, who will still be retiring as the outgoing chairman, with Andy Cracknell taking over the reins.

As part of the original plans for CAVRA closing, the charity donated all its funds and equipment to the National Inshore Lifeboat Association. This means that we are ultimately back at square one and will require support from the communities we serve to restart our journey.

As the charity relaunches, the changes being made to CAVRA are:

  • Complete re-branding of the charity to give a modern and professional image.

  • Increased area of operation to now cover the whole of England and Wales.

  • Further rescue functions, now contained within a specialist, national team.

  • Creation of Community Emergency Volunteer Teams to provide a community lead prepareness, response, and recovery to major incidents.

Further details will be shared in due course – in the meantime, if you are a business wishing to support our relaunch, please contact us on fundraising@cavra.org.uk.
